Hey guys, you won’t believe this but I just got the most amazing of news in my email.
I received an email from the Ghana Amputee association and apparently, they are forming a new Black Stars team!
Well before you get all excited, no they are not scrapping the existing senior national team (although it may not be a bad idea for a shake-up in membership of the existing national male team). They are forming a special Black Stars squad. Well read the details of the email below for yourself.
RECRUITMENT OF DWARF FOOTBALL PLAYERS
All little structured (dwarf) football players in Ghana are invited to take part in a special recruitment exercise for their inclusion in the national team, The Little Black Stars, for national assignments.
The players are required to gather at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at 10 a.m. to meet with officials of the Association of Sports for the Disabled (ASFOD). They are to bring along their football kits for a short training prior to a curtain raiser for the FA final match on Sunday.
The exercise is also to prepare them towards a proposed friendly match between Ghana and Brazil to be staged in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Unfortunately I did not see the email early so let me apologize in advance to anyone who would have wanted to partake in this exercise but I’m sure you can make further enquiries. Send an email to ghamputee@yahoo.co.uk at least that is the address from which I got this email so they can give you all the information you may need.
All the best to the Little Black Stars in the making and I hope you bring us a trophy sometime when you start playing tournaments
Cheers.
